Before the experiment, I thought the graph would be a straight line but after the experiment, when I actually made the real graph, it wasn’t a straight line but curves.
Before I started this experiment, I thought that motion would be really hard. But after, it wasn’t as complicated as I thought. All we did was timing the speed of the car and writing down the results.
The most surprising fact from this experiment was that it was easy and when I was organizing the results and making the graph, When I connected the dots, I realized that it was a straight line.
If you make two balls of clay with different mass and make them fall from the same height, then the bigger ball of clay will land on the ground first because of the gravity.
For me, the most important learning was paraphrasing because it makes me think about the article I read again. Now I understand conversations are different from a quick share. A quick share is just sharing their thoughts for a little amount of time, but a conversation is sharing their thoughts and building on others ideas for a lot of time. This skill paraphrasing is useful to me as a learner because I will get to use that skill a lot in my life. When I paraphrase, I get to put an information in my own words. As a next step I will make a podcast about Alexander the Great. And use my skill of paraphrasing to explain about my topic.
One of the reading skills I think I’ve improved in is close reading. First, close reading was really hard and I thought only smart and organized people could do it. But, I started to notice that it wasn’t hard at all! In fact it was kind of a simple version of note taking.
And another skill I have improved in is STEAL. I started to think what the character SAYS and how the character THINKS and how he or she ACTS and what the character LOOKS like.
1. I think I am in math support class because…I needed help with my math vocabulary.
2. Since I came to math support…..I improved in my math vocabulary. For example, I didn’t know the word ‘perimeter’. But I got to know by asking in math support,
3. One math skill I have improved on is….Finding the mean, mode and median.
4. I will show my understanding, by…solving a problem.
5. One math skill that I still need to improve on is….dividing fractions with models.
6. I will show my confusion by…solving a problem.
7. A learning habit that is a strength of mine is…perserverant.
8. A learning habit that is challenge for me is…collaborative.
What are characteristics of living things? They breath. They need water2nd paragraph: What would be your advise to John Doe’s parents? Discuss your ideas from both a scientific view and an ethical point of view. My advice is too leave John Doe for about 3 months and if he is still the same, then they should find another way.
3rd paragraph: How was your experience with the first Socratic seminar? Were you a proficient critical thinker participant? (Did you make comments that demonstrated a good knowledge of text and the questions, prepared, active listener, referring back to text)
The hilight of science 6 so far is that I got to learn a lot of things.
All the science vocabulary were hard.
Spending more time at home for the test is my goal for next semester.
